Since the time of early Christianity, Baptism has been the rite of initiation into the Christian community of the Church. In Baptism, the “one Spirit” makes us members of the Body of Christ and of “one another” (Catechism of the Catholic Church [CCC], no. 1267). Pope John Paul II describes the result of Baptism as a “mystical unity” between Christ and his disciples, and the disciples with one another, like “branches of a single vine.” This reflects the mystical communion of the Holy Trinity (Christifideles Laici [The Vocation and the Mission of the Lay Faithful in the Church and in the World], no. 12).
The Baptism Preparation Ministry educates parents and godparents about the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism and helps them to reflect on their responsibility to support the baptized child in fully living the gifts received in Baptism.
Step 1: Parents contact the Parish Office (254) 773-1561 to arrange a time to pick up the Baptism packet which contains all necessary documents. You can click on the link below for a copy of the Baptism Guidelines.
Step 2: Parents will then have the opportunity to register for the Baptism Class. The class is held every second Saturday of the month from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon in the Holy Family Room of the Parish Hall.(Note: The May class will be on the first Monday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.)
Once the class is completed, and all required docementation is provided to the office, the Baptism will be scheduled.
