Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction may be understood as the help or guidance that one person (directee) seeks with the help of another person (director) as they journey together to develop attentiveness to the actions of the Holy Spirit in the directee's life. A spiritual director helps the directee to discern what God may be calling him or her to be or do while keeping in mind that God is already at work in the directee's life.

The key principles of spiritual direction is to help a directee to:

• delve deeper into prayer and draw closer to God in daily life.
• Discover God's care in the midst of difficulties.
• Become aware of the sacred with the the ordinary events of life.
• Honestly share with God their thoughts, doubts, and questions.
